Our client was a large single tier municipality in the Province of Ontario. In 2016 COREinternational was engaged to assess the efficacy of the organization structure of the largest City department, and make recommendations on how to improve work alignment.
WHAT WE DID
We completed a rapid, high-level assessment of the organization to identify issues relating to the organization structure. This “agile assessment” was followed by a deeper and more comprehensive review of the entire management structure of the organization. Upon completion of the review a workshop was held to provide feedback on the efficacy of the current structure and recommendations on how to improve it. We then worked with the incoming General Manager to finalize the new organization structure, which incorporated input from members of the Department’s Senior Leadership team, as well as our principles of organization design.
